About St Kenneth’s Primary School

St Kenneth’s Primary School is situated in West Mains area of East Kilbride. We are a large school with over 500 pupils and have a Nursery within the school as well.
Our new building was opened in 2010 on the same grounds as the original school.

Welcome from the Headteacher

We are delighted that you have chosen St Kenneth’s to share the responsibility of educating your child. When young children begin school life they are eager to grasp many new experiences and one of our aims is to preserve this attitude of pleasure and excitement in learning, so that each child will become a successful learner, confident individual, responsible citizen and an effective contributor.
St Kenneth’s is a vibrant and happy learning environment where we aim to provide a stimulating education for your child that takes into account his/her intellectual, spiritual, physical, emotional and social development. It is our intention to make school a nurturing and supportive place where your child will develop a desire to further the learning process through encouragement of a positive approach to education, the provision of an appropriate, balanced curriculum and by offering opportunities to exercise qualities of co-operation, responsibility and initiative. An awareness of their duties and responsibilities as future citizens is fostered through developing a sense of equal opportunities and social justice.
Through working in partnership with parents, staff, children and the local and wider communities, we can help each child at St Kenneth’s to reach the highest measure of success that he/she is capable, and recognise, develop and celebrate their strengths and skills.
